About

The Cleveland Coalition is a civic organization of Clevelanders working to create and sustain a more vibrant, healthy and connected community by building civic imagination, community participation and leadership capacity. Our events allow citizens to participate in policy discussions and empower citizens to take action. The issues and ideas engaged by the Coalition focus on quality of life, economic innovation and social equity.

Our Process
Our work is guided by the belief that Education, Collaboration, and Action are the key ingredients for effective activism.

Educate. We provide opportunities for community partners to exchange ideas and insights related to the projects under examination. Our guiding belief is that Cleveland must draw on information and resources both from leaders in our city and beyond to capitalize on opportunities before us. Our goal is to provide a forum for such exchange and education, and to broaden these conversations beyond the walls of city hall and board rooms to the broader public.

Collaborate. We provide opportunities through workshops and other types of exchange for community practitioners and members of the public to engage in substantive, outcome-oriented conversation to address the barriers that stymy urban revitalization, social equity, and community development.

Act. Our dialogues, workshops, and forums are designed to highlight opportunities for activism and engagement. We encourage many different forms of activism ranging from the dissemination of recommendations and reports to issue-based political advocacy.
